Icelab used to have excellent customer support. The original owners/operators worked tirelessly to provide the best service to their customers and always made me feel well cared for. Then Icelab was bought by another hosting company and, since then, their customer support presence is absolutely non-existent. You can't call or email anyone. The only way you will ever receive any response (if you're lucky) is via the web-based support ticket system which is often broken and still solicits No response from anybody at Icelab Networks. If you do get a hold of someone you will be talked to as if you are of no value to them, they obviously have way better things to do than help you. At one point I tried for almost a week to get a response from someone, all in vain. I have since moved all of my domains to a Rackspace Cloud Server account (which I love btw) and cancelled my account with Icelab. The following month they charged my bank account for another month of service. It took several days to get them to refund the charge and told me they would be shipping my server back to me laterthat week. That was almost 3 weeks ago.. my server is still, as I write this, up and running at icelab despite the fact that I expressed the fact that I Need my server back Asap. I was about to start the whole support ticket tag game all over again with them when I decided to write this review first. I'm so sick of this place. I'm almost done with them.. I hope they ship my server back to me someday soon. :( .. beware! stay away!
Update:
Finally got my server back from them after almost a month of waiting in the dark since nobody ever responds from icelab. They charged me $80 to ship it back. That's about 3 times what shipping should have cost. When I plugged in my server for the first time it started up instantly without pressing the power button. This means that Tom (he's the owner/operator/tech support now) simply yanked the power cord out of my server without shutting it down, presumably done out of spite or maybe just pure negligence. One of the HDDs looked like it had been forcibly disconnected to the point the SATA cable is damaged. The rack rails were both bent horribly and I am missing several pieces of hardware from inside the server. I won't bother contacting them (or trying to) about it. It's no use. Take my experience as a warning people. ICELAB IS NO GOOD |
